Non Invasive Procedures Technology combined with deceptive marketing has resulted in the proliferation of procedures which imply benefits comparable to facelifts without surgery. Technologies such as Thermage, Titan, Fraxel and Threadlifts receive a lot of hype with results that never compare to a properly performed facelift. In fact, several of these “non-invasive procedures” have resulted in complications such as loss of facial fat, full thickness skin burns and retained foreign body requiring surgical removal. The Technology does not exist as of yet that can duplicate the benefits of a facelift. Some non invasive procedures which are used as an aid to facelifts are Botox, Hyaluronic Acid fillers such as Juvederm or Sculptra and Intense Pulsed Light. These agents are useful for targeting specific problems on the face such as crow´s feet, deep lines from the corner of the nose to the edges of the mouth or forehead grooves. In addition, some people have benefited from Botox to reduce prominent neck banding, which is a sign of aging seen in certain individuals.
