Dr. Prasad's Facelift

Around 2004, the website www.smartliftmd.com was launched to provide information about a technique of facelift developed by Dr. Prasad and performed exclusively by Dr. Prasad. Since that time, the term “Smartlift” has been used in reference to facelift techniques used by other doctors as well as to techniques related to laser assisted liposuction. Anyone using the term “Smartlift” other than Dr. Prasad is not affiliated or trained by Dr. Prasad. A Real Facelift technique as developed by Dr. Prasad involved a combination of a small incision facelifts and local anesthesia with sedation as necessary.

The procedure was comparable to performing laparoscopic surgery where a smaller incision is made, but the appropriate work to accomplish the desired results is still completed. From the introduction of S lift and other short scar “weekend lifts”, there has been confusion regarding the difference between the Smartlift concept and other named facelifts. The other named facelift techniques are essentially shortcut procedures which have been used indiscriminately on people who may have needed more extensive procedures. Dr. Prasad’s face and neck lift surgeries are not shortcut procedures, but rather smaller incision procedures. The results and longevity of Dr. Prasad’s technique are comparable to traditional facelift techniques and should not be confused with the “one hour” / “no bandage”/no downtime techniques.
